LivingCookbook Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

LivingCookbook ("we," "us") generates recipes using AI based on what you ask for, your dietary preferences and allergies, and (optionally) ingredients you tell us you already have. This page explains what we collect and how it's used.

Information We Collect

How We Use Information

Allergy information is treated as a hard constraint: it's used to instruct the AI never to include those ingredients, and generated recipes are checked again before being shown to you. Low-FODMAP, renal/dialysis, low-sodium, and diabetic-friendly preferences are used the same way to avoid common trigger ingredients, but — because these diets are about cumulative daily intake rather than simple presence/absence — this is best-effort, not a medical safety guarantee. LivingCookbook is not a substitute for advice from your doctor or dietitian.

Households

If you create or accept an invitation to a household, the other members of that household can see your display name and email, and can select you (along with anyone else in the household) when generating a shared meal — which combines the hard constraints (allergies, diet flags) of everyone selected for that recipe. You can leave a household at any time from its detail screen in Settings.

Third-Party Services

Sharing Recipes with Other Users

When you share a recipe, the recipe and your email address (so the recipient knows who shared it) are made visible to the recipient. Sharing only works between people who both have a LivingCookbook account.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, preferences, pantry items, saved recipes, and sharing history.

Children's Privacy

LivingCookbook is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to This Policy

We'll update this page if our data practices change, and update the "Last updated" date above.
